Algebra I Instruction

algebraAlgebra I is frequently a stumbling block for students who struggle because of an identified learning disability, limited English proficiency, poor reading skills, a district’s need to hire alternatively certified teachers and/or students’ lack of confidence to engage in mathematics. This two-day institute is grounded both in the research and strategies of differentiated instruction and in The Principles and Standards for School Mathematics. Activities offered will guide teachers to develop hands-on lessons that are aligned to state standards and testing formats.
