In this session, participants will explore the most current research on dyslexia and learn how to support dyslexic students during reading instruction and within the content areas. Additionally, teachers will learn techniques to actively engage all learners in the reading process and to carve out time to meet the diverse needs of students during the instructional day.
Dyscalculia is the term used to describe a learning disability specific to mathematics. This workshop will target research-based interventions to address this disability and propose systems for documenting expected student progress. Participants will work with peers to translate current research on characteristics of the disability and best practices for addressing the needs of these students into plans and classroom activities for student success.
