Frances Stetson, Ph.D.
President & CEO
Dr. Stetson is President/CEO of Stetson & Associates, founding the firm in 1983. Frances leads the organization with major roles in direction setting, strategic planning, content and materials development, and client communications. Currently, she is presenting keynote addresses for five state conferences this fall – all virtual! Her past experience includes developing master trainers to lead statewide change efforts regarding inclusive practices, correcting disproportionate decisions, promoting culturally responsive learning environments, and increasing the capacity of leaders to effect change in our rapidly changing world. Dr. Stetson is also the Executive Director of the Inclusive Schools Network that hosts the Annual Inclusive Schools Week with participation from 240 countries from around the world. Frances has been a teacher, state department of education chief consultant, director of a national research project for OCEP and OCR, author of the First Annual Report to Congress re: IDEA under contract with OSEP, Director of Special Education and Director of General Education and Accreditation for the largest regional education center in Texas. Under her leadership, Stetson & Associates, Inc. has served educators in schools and state departments of education in 36 states and five foreign countries. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park, and her two prior degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.
I am usually at home relaxing with my rescue pet, Precious, reading or swimming. (Houston has year-round swim weather!)
I love my kindle, any taco, and yoga. I begin every day with a brief meditation and end it with a Coke (a mix of healthy and not!)
